Adults' Classes:

Our adult classes are ideal for both the beginning and the experienced artist alike. These unique courses focus on the fundamentals and on building existing skills and allow each student to explore their own creativity at their own pace.

First Friday Art for Ages 60+

Friday January 4th, 12:00 - 2:00 PM

Join us the First Friday of every month for an afternoon of creativity, free of charge! Our January project will feature Oil Pastel Portraits and Landscapes with Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts graduate, Emily Rose Hirtle. Participants must register prior to the start of the workshop. Sign up early as spaces fill up quickly. We appreciate a notice of 24 hours or more if you decide not to attend.

 

Ceramic Throwing and Hand-Building

Mondays 7:00 - 10:00 PM

Teacher: David Lawrence

Students of all skill levels are welcomed to join our newest ceramic class offering. This course will focus on wheel thrown forms and techniques for functionality and expression. Instruction in hand-building is available for interested students.  Basic materials and firing included. Winter session for this class begins January 14th.

Ceramic Throwing and Decoration

Tuesdays 7:00 - 10:00 PM

Teacher: Charlotte Lindley Martin

Beginning or advanced students will learn and build a strong foundation in pottery form and surface.  Focusing primarily on wheel throwing, with instruction in hand-building for interested students, the goal is to create functional items for use and enjoyment at home.  Basic materials and firing included. Winter session for this class begins January 8th.

Painting on Wednesday

Wednesdays 6:30 - 9:30 pm

Teacher: Stefanie Lieberman

Award-winning painter Stefanie Lieberman will deepen students' knowledge of color theory, perspective, and brush stroke while guiding them towards achieving their intended compositions. Bring reference photos, oil or acrylic paints, brushes, and canvas materials of your choice or select from the Center's supplies. Winter session for this class begins January 9th.

Painting on Thursday

Thursdays 9:30 AM - 12:30 pm

Teacher: Maura Matthews

Develop your own artistic style in an opening and encouraging studio environment  where the focus is on mastering painting fundamentals and having fun!  All experience levels are welcome.  Bring reference photos, oil or acrylic paints, brushes, and canvas materials of your choice or select from the Center's supplies. Design Your Own Jewelry

Fridays 7:00 PM - 10:00 pm

Teacher: Y'vonne Page-Magnus

Design beautiful jewelry out of semi-precious stones and freshwater pearls such as earrings, necklaces, bracelets and pendants. In this class you will learn how to use the three essential tools of jewelry as well as an introduction to basic wire-wrapping techniques that can be applied to a variety of jewelry-making. This class is perfect for all experience levels. Winter session for this class begins January 11th.
