New Online Classes, Events & Workshops
Members of the Whitemarsh Art Center receive discounts on classes, events and workshops. Due to the COVID-19 epidemic the Art Center has moved its programming to an online format for the foreseeable future, we are halting or canceling all in-person classes, programs and events. Check back soon as we schedule dates for additional online classes and events.
All Day Saturday. The Conshohocken Arts Fesitval and Car Show has gone virtual. It will run the full month of June with a kickoff celebration on June 6th from 11:00am to 11:00pm with live music, a virtual car show, art classes, a First Lady raffle and more! 2-3:30 PM. Show your support for regional healthcare workers! Participants will be able to share their creative card making ideas and design in a group setting. We'll provide addresses of regional hospital networks that are collecting cards. Learn more >>

An Online four-week class. In this engaging course, students will learn to make functional and sculptural pots from two expert ceramicists. The class will present 4 projects easily created at the kitchen table. Students will explore hand building techniques using templates, slabs, coiling and pinching followed by underglaze and sgraffito decoration. Register Today >>
A FREE Online Event Beginning at 5 PM. Join us to celebrate the accomplishments of our talented students and teachers from the past session! We'll kick off the online event with a live slideshow filled to the brim with dynamic artwork. Artists who attend are invited to say a few words about their pieces. We extend a warm welcome to students and teachers' families and to other regional art aficionados to join. Clean Color: With a limited palette of high chroma colors, learn how to create the more subtle tones that can sometimes confound and frustrate painters in their pursuit of color accuracy, harmony and balance. Learn more >>
Cozy up to the view from your window, stoop, backyard, front yard, or somewhere in between. A FREE Online Event Beginning at 6 PM. Join us for our popular Art Around the World series with guest speaker, Kaytria Stauffer. Kaytria's artwork is greatly influenced by her travels and study of the Irish language. She delivers a diverse body of work that ranges from conceptual metal structure, wearable silver jewelry, non-traditional painting, and illustration. Poetry Illustration Workshop:
A two session workshop. During the first session, we will review example styles and techniques of poetry illustration. Participants will identify and analyze key imagery from their favorite short poems and begin their illustrations. During the second session, students will present the poems they've selected and their illustrations to the group.
A two session children's workshop. Experts, stakeholders, and the public will convene for a one-of-a-kind forum. This afternoon event will showcase museum curators, artists, and education specialists who are knowledgeable about enriching the lives of people of all needs via the arts. The forum launches the center’s satellite accessible arts education outreach program.
