Covid-19

The health and safety of our community is our priority. We have canceled indoor classes and programming until we can safely resume. We now offer multiple engaging online classes and events as well as a few outdoor options.

Please visit our Covid-19 Precautions page for our regularly-updated guidelines.

Class Cancellation

The Whitemarsh Art Center reserves the right to cancel any program or event due to insufficient participation or other circumstances that in its determination, may affect the quality of the experience.

  • In the event of cancellation, participants will be notified via email and will receive a full refund. If the class has started, a partial/prorated refund will be issued.

Refund Request

A participant may request to be removed from a class and receive a full refund (less a $20 processing fee) any time up to 10 calendar days before the class starts.

  • Participants requesting a refund within 10 days of the class start will receive a 60% credit towards any other class they wish to take in the future. No cash refund will be issued. If students decide to withdraw once class starts, before 25% of the class days have happened, they will also receive a 60% credit towards any other class they wish to take in the future. Refunds and make-ups will not be given for individual student absences due to personal schedule conflicts. Any student who has been removed from a class due to disruptive or dangerous behavior will not receive a refund for the remaining classes.

Refund Type

Refunds will be issued in the form of a check if payment was received by check or cash and by credit card if payment was received in that manner. No cash will be refunded.

  • Refunds may take up to three (3) weeks to be received.

Online Class and Event Video Use

Course Video Tutorials: Only students who pay to enroll in an online class are permitted by Whitemarsh Art Center to use that course's copyright online video content. Sharing a course's videos with those who are not enrolled in that course is expressly prohibited and is an infringement of our copyright, terms and policies. Infringement of this may result in being removed from the class without reimbursement and/or legal action.

Recorded Live Classes and Workshops: It is our policy to periodically record live online classes to make lessons temporarily available to students who are absent and who in advance request a recording. These temporarily posted video recordings are password protected and are not for use of the outside public. Sharing access to these videos with non students is prohibited and is an infringement of our copyright terms and policies. Students or guardians of students who are minors consent to these temporary recordings by enrolling in a live online class. In most cases, access to these recordings of live Zoom classes expire in one week after they were made.

Recorded Events: It is our policy to periodically record live online events and make the event recording available to the public for educational purposes. By registering for an online event, participants consent to these recordings.

Rain Policy for Outdoor Classes

If at 8 AM on the day of the class, Weather.com predicts a 50% or more chance of rain in Conshohocken for at least 30 minutes overlapping with class hours, our class will be cancelled. If feasible with the teacher's schedule, a class day will be added to the end of the session on the same weekday and time. Otherwise, there will be prorated reimbursements for that day. Students will be notified between 8 and 8:30 AM if that day's class will be cancelled.

Snow Closures

In cases of inclement weather, if the Colonial School District is closed, ALL children's classes for that day will be canceled. Adult classes will be canceled depending on road accessibility and at the discretion of the class teacher. Do not expect to be individually contacted. Whenever possible, we will post closures on our homepage. The Colonial School District's school closure # 392, announced on KYW radio, is another reliable source. Make-up classes will be scheduled during the make-up week in-between sessions. Refunds will not be given if the student is unable to attend the make-up class.

Publicity Policy

The Whitemarsh Art Center reserves the right to take pictures during our classes and our events for promotional reasons. We sometimes post such photographs on our social media pages and/or our website. We will not always list names. You may decline participation upon registration in a class.

Children's Classes Policy

As per the Pennsylvania Code, Title 22 Code Ch. 405.43 (b) – “If a Program class has ten or fewer students, there shall be one teacher in the classroom and an aide must be available on-site to assist the teacher as needed.” In the unlikely event that the Center cannot provide adequate staffing for a children’s class, that class will be canceled.
